I am sure that there are measures in "Firm Foundations" that Johann Lamont will support as well as many measures that she will criticise.Let us remind ourselves why the initiative is necessary.

Unfortunately, Mr McLetchie is not quite as up to date, because my colleague the chancellor announced on 15 June this year that, in his capacity as master of the mint, he would be striking a £2 coin in celebration of the union, so it is fair to say that work is going on in England that will complement what we do here.
