We want to pre-empt that by persuading people now. I will pursue that point. Scots law is clear: euthanasia is unacceptable and is considered contrary to law.
I suggest that we pass the Executive's responses—other than on the third point—to the petitioners. On the third point, we will write to the Executive seeking clarification on the issues that have been raised.
We should write to the Executive, asking why it is setting its face so hard against setting a minimum distance.In paragraph 26 of the clerk's paper, we are told that the Executive is carrying out research into the dividing line between planning and environmental controls.
