Dog Theft (Scotland) Bill - Data on dog thefts
The Law Society of Scotland, in its response to the Bill's consultation, stated:
If the Police, COPFS [Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service] and the Scottish Courts and the SCTS [Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service] can adapt their systems to record that property stolen in theft and robbery cases included a dog, then that should be done independently of creating a new statutory offence of dog abduction.
