Timeline to the inquiry The Committee— held a round table session in public on 11 June 2019 which referenced marine planning; issued an open call for views; conducted fact-finding visits and informal meetings with stakeholders in Shetland, Orkney and the Clyde and then with Marine Scotland in November 2019; published an interim report (June 2020); issued a targeted call for views following publication of the report; and commissioned research on international approaches to marine planning (Using marine planning to balance competing demands on the marine environment: international comparisons); and held an evidence session with the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment and Scottish Government officials.
