The Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee published its report on Stage 1 of the Bill on 4 March 2019, with the Scottish Government responding later that month. The Stage 1 debate took place on 26 March 2019 and the Parliament agreed unanimously to the general principles of the Bill.
Work is currently underway on drafting the 2025/26 SFC Ministerial letter of guidance, which will be issued to SFC to follow on from the Scottish Budget announcement.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (Framework) Order 2022 was laid in Parliament on 31 March 2022, and the framework was brought into effect from 26 May 2022. The new fire and rescue framework has been fully reviewed and updated.
