If someone has a conviction for prostitution, they are not defined as a schedule 1 offender, but it means that they are unable to work with young people—the offence would stay on their record—yet that is the area that we would hope many of those women could go into.

We need to ask the Executive to clarify the order.There is also a wee problem about the definition of "prescribed" in sections 1(1A) and 1(1B) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980—the parent act—which is clarified by section 135(1) of that act.
