Amendment 43 in the name of the Minister would replace these, introducing imprisonment, alongside a fine, as a potential penalty. It would also add new sections (106BB, 106BC and 106BD) into the 2016 Act which would apply to reporting restrictions prior to court proceedings and defences for breaches of reporting restrictions.
