Supported by: Liam Kerr*, Jeremy Balfour*, Ross Thomson*, James Dornan*, John Lamont*, Donald Cameron*, Miles Briggs*, Margaret Mitchell*, Oliver Mundell*, Liz Smith*, Alison Harris*, Colin Beattie* *S5M-04642 Jackson Carlaw: Scottish Tourism Week 2017 That the Parliament welcomes — that 23,000 people in over 650 businesses involved in Scottish tourism have undertaken customer service training programmes; notes that WorldHost customer service training programmes were run by People 1st and funded by Skills Development Scotland; supports the importance of a well- trained workforce in the Scottish tourism sector; applauds the achievements of four cities, over 70 towns and two sets of islands across 12 regions in Scotland now using the world-renowned WorldHost customer service programmes to train local businesses in hospitality and tourism; notes that this training represents an investment of over £2 million since it was launched in 2014, and recognises the businesses, towns and regions that are currently working towards WorldHost accreditation to ensure that visitors receive a warm welcome and high standard of customer service to help set Scotland apart as a visitor destination.
