I can advise that East Dunbartonshire Council take cognisance of the Burial Ground Memorial Safety Guidance issued by Scottish Government in June 2019 for Scotland’s Local Authorities and updated our own internal Headstone and Memorial Inspection Policy accordingly. burial-ground-memo rial-safety-guidance-scotlands-local-authorities.pdf As noted by the Committee the burial grounds are the responsibility of the Local Authority, but the lair and associated headstone/memorial is the responsibility of the lair owner.
For rural communities, the Scottish Government is aware that households in rural areas are less likely to have access to superfast broadband, however, use of consultation websites require only basic access, and that is broadly comparable between rural and urban Scotland.
To enhance this provision, the Commission launched a development section of its website in January 2022, bringing together a range of information and resources for crofters.
Committee Members and members of the public will also be able to access the reports electronically from the Transport Scotland website with accessible copies available from Transport Scotland.
