The need to bring in new resources to the planning system will be particularly important during the transition period, as a raft of new generation LDPs begin to be prepared and development management processes adjust to new and expanded duties.
The Rural and Islands Housing Fund has also been extended to March 2028 as part of Programme for Government 2025-26.
