On your question about the timescale for this work, from an animal welfare point of view, sub-outcome 2C talks about animal health and welfare standards being “maintained, enforced and improved”.
What will you do to address that, bearing in mind that we are a population of 5.5 million and that the website that you are pointing everybody to is not user friendly?
It is about the culture of getting moving on this. On the point about prisoners, I have been to a prison in my region and I know that it is moving to talk to somebody who is about to be released.
I have met with members of the Committee individually and have been reassured by their openness and willingness to work together to ensure that the Bill can deliver the best legislative outcome at this point in our journey towards 2030.
There are—and continue to be—many benefits to full integration but, once again, I press the point and emphasise that that is a long-term goal that is being kept under review.
