Trading Standards officers already have powers in relation to the sale of fireworks, particularly in connection with sales to underage persons (section 12 of the Fireworks Act 2003), and the intention is that enforcement of these new offences will sit alongside those existing powers.
Gender recognition obtained outwith Scotland
Section 8 of the Bill inserts a new section in the GRA, and makes provisions about recognition in Scotland of gender recognition obtained by a person in the rest of the UK, or 'overseas gender recognition' (any country or territory outwith the UK).
For example, there are around 50,000 fewer jobs in the Accommodation and food services industry, which has the lowest median pay in Scotland.
Conversely most of the new jobs have come in industries that have a higher median pay then the Scotland wide figure.
Between the period 1995 to 2000 the researchers concluded that the new fee based system reduced non–recyclable waste by 84% and increased the recycling fractions like paper & card by 15.3%, food waste by 14.6%, construction materials by 12.4% and plastics by 5.1%.
Net Zero
During proceedings at Westminster, an amendment was proposed to add a new requirement to the subsidy control principles in schedule 1, namely that the beneficial effects of subsidies should outweigh their negative effects on “consistency with the United Kingdom achieving its net zero commitments established under the Climate Change Act 2008”.
