Audit Scotland’s 2025 Scotland’s Colleges report found a £20 million reduction in cash terms and 20% reduction in real terms in funding for colleges between 2021-22 and 2025-26. The Scottish Government has provided targeted funding to support assessment and service improvement, including £3.4 million in 2025-26 and a further £7.65 million allocated within the 2026-27 mental health programme.
