It is essential that the UK Secretary of State for Transport, Alistair Darling, come before us, because what is at stake is the funding of the rail network infrastructure in Scotland for the foreseeable future. It is plain that we would want the right to question Mr Darling about his views on what Scotland's share should be and what a fair share should be.
