Successive budgets within the current parliamentary session have prioritised expenditure to support economic growth, including business growth and the jobs they generate.In terms of ensuring people have the skills for jobs of the future, our 2025-26 Scottish budget allocates over £2 billion for colleges, universities, and the wider skills system, prioritizing support for students and ensuring access to education.

Second biannual REUL Act update September 2024
The position reached with the former UK administration was set out in a letter to the Net Zero, 7 Energy and Transport Committee on 26 June 2024( ). Work continues with the new administration with the aim of resolving the issues set out in the letter.
