There was an attempt in the European Union to have greater competition by creating new agencies, but that was frustrated by the power of the existing agencies.

DPEA has been recording what developments within this hierarchy have been dealt with on appeal to Scottish ministers since December 2013, following the roll-out of a new case handling system that allowed this information to be recorded.

Finally, the 2012 Act also provides for a new statutory system of caveats. A caveat on a title sheet will effectively warn any party of ongoing litigation, including actions which may involve an allegation of fraud.

These figures are provisional because we are in the process of reviewing our workforce data including undertaking a data cleanse exercise which will remove records that are out of date. A new framework for the supply of agency workers will come into force on 24 April 2015.
A range of local and national face-to-face events have taken place. New content has been published to a dedicated STEM central website and the monthly STEM e bulletin now has 2400 subscribers.

Further delays to the Ullapool works would mean that the resilience and service benefits of the new facilities would take longer to be put in place, and would add to the overall cost of the improvements.
