Supported by: Joan McAlpine*, Richard Lyle*, Stuart McMillan*, Sandra White* *S5M-17957 Clare Adamson: Motherwell High School Names New Sports Pitch after Former Alumni and Lisbon Lion, Billy McNeill—That the Parliament welcomes the news that a new state-of-the-art 4G sports pitch at Our Lady’s High School in Motherwell will be named after the former pupil and legendary Celtic FC captain, Billy McNeill; understands that construction work on the new "Billy McNeill Sports Park" is officially under way and will be completed later in 2019; recognise that Billy, a member of the famous Lisbon Lions, and his teammates from that side, are already immortalised in North Lanarkshire’s sporting hall of fame at Ravenscraig Sports Centre; notes that the all-weather 11-a-side pitch on the current school campus at Dalzell Drive will be used for a number of sports, including football and hockey, and hopes that the new facility will help to inspire sporting heroes of the future.
