The Scottish Executive is aware of current skills shortages in the oil and gas industry through involvement with the government/industry PILOT Task Force. Future Skills Scotland has a key role in matching skills supply to employer demand and the unit has plans to carry out a skills audit of the oil and gas sector in the first half of 2002.
