Our 2023-24 Pre-Budget report highlighted that a shift towards multi-year funding would allow greater progress to be made in mainstreaming culture across policy areas and our 2024-25 report considered the delivery of multi-year settlements for the cultural organisations the Scottish Government funds to be a crucial component in increasing sectoral support.
The Committee’s 2024-25 and 2025-26 Budget reports highlighted concerns about the lack of progress made towards the commitment made in 2021 to agree 3-year funding settlements for the organisations funded directly by the Scottish Government.
