In view of the parliamentary debate and what may happen thereafter in respect of committee membership, we should perhaps consider our nominee at a future meeting, having noted our intimation to the conveners group and others that we want a member of the committee to go on the visit.
I propose that we defer consideration of that subject until a future meeting of the committee, so that we can spend more time on agenda item 8, which is consideration of Audit Scotland reports.

No decision has been taken about the future of these two hospitals. As you know, NHS Borders has been reviewing in-patient facilities in the Borders area with a view to deciding how services should be delivered in future.

The Scottish Executive meets Local Authority Supporting People lead officers on a monthly basis to discuss current and future issues. Local authorities are also represented on the review group that the Scottish Executive set up to review the programme and its future.
