From April 2027: • New statutory obligations requiring social landlords to comply with specified Awaab’s Law for Scotland timeframes come into force. • All social landlords begin monitoring and reporting on new regulatory requirements. 4 Additional measures In addition to the introduction of Awaab’s Law for Scotland, we recommend the following actions are undertaken: In 2025/26: • The Scottish Housing Regulator should write to all social landlords asking them to ensure their internal policies reflect the Putting Safety First Guidance.
