That the Parliament congratulates South Ayrshire Community Transport on its award of funding from SP Energy Networks’ £20 million Green Economy Fund; understands that the funding is for the development of the KA8 Electric Car Club in North Ayr; notes that it is one of 13 low-carbon transport and heating projects to be awarded funding from this first round of the Green Economy Fund; understands that SP Energy Networks’ criteria for funding includes reducing emissions and delivering a range of social benefits, and encourages others to apply to the Green Economy fund, which is open for a second round of applications.

That the Parliament congratulates Stephen Berry, on being a finalist in the recent Electrical Apprentice of the Year Award, which is sponsored by the Scottish Joint Industry Board and Edmundson Electrical; recognises that Stephen was one of the three finalists chosen from over 3,000 apprentices; understands that the electrical industry modern apprenticeship programme recruits around 700 young people each year, and acknowledges that this award encourages and rewards those apprentices who have demonstrated that they have attained the highest standards of academic and technical competence and displayed excellent personal qualities in their education and training.

That the Parliament welcomes the West FM News campaign, Joan’s Legacy, which seeks to highlight the need for speed cameras to be installed on the A77 between the Whitletts and Bankfield roundabouts; notes that Joan Price of Troon was tragically killed on this section of carriageway in 2017 by a vehicle travelling at up to 140mph; understands that, where average speed cameras have been installed along other sections of the A77, there has been a 77% reduction in fatal casualties and a 74% reduction in serious casualties, compared with the original baseline published in 2005, and believes that urgent action should be taken to install average speed cameras on the A77 between these two roundabouts.

That the Parliament applauds the work done by Care and Share, a collaboration between Riverside Church and NHS Ayrshire and Arran, which provides a weekly drop-in service where an average of 50 people per week can access 13 different social care, healthcare and financial services on a one-stop-shop basis; notes that, in 2018, Care and Share celebrates its 10th anniversary of assisting people recovering from drug and alcohol misuse, and wishes the volunteers who have sustained this collaboration every success with their future work.

That the Parliament notes the efforts of Friends of Troon Beaches, which is a group of 45 volunteers that formed in April 2017 to care for four miles of coastline in Troon and Barassie; applauds the friends' commitment to keeping this coastline clear of marine litter, including discarded fishing equipment, plastics and other beached detritus, and notes the calls for all to commit to continuing the work to change long-term behaviour, so that the littering of Scotland’s seas and coastline is brought to an end.
