Improving access to support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental support needs is a priority for this government.

I recognise that many people who have received a private diagnosis of ADHD are struggling to access the medication they are seeking through the NHS, and we are working with NHS Boards and primary care partners to better understand these barriers, including issues relating to shared care prescribing.

The Scottish Government is currently engaging with partners to explore options around shared care arrangements. We are committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure any approach is proportionate, effective and meets the needs of patients and clinicians.

Shared care was a key issue discussed at the second summit convened by the Minister for Social Care and Mental Wellbeing on neurodevelopment; and by the recent parliamentary inquiry by the Health and Social Care Committee. These will inform our work as we look to deliver manifesto commitments to improve pathways for those seeking support for neurodivergence.

As you will be aware medication is only one form of support for children and young people with an ADHD diagnosis and many children and young people will benefit from other forms of support including through community and education settings, which are available based on need and do not rely on diagnosis.

We are committed to ensuring that people who have suffered strokes receive the best possible care and recognise high quality, person-centred rehabilitation as a key component of this. An increased focus on rehabilitation is also a key component of our Stroke Improvement Plan, published in June 2023 and that is why we have included the investment of up to a million pounds to support Technology Enriched Rehabilitation Gyms.

On 3 March 2026, the former Deputy First Minister and the former Cabinet Secretary for Transport informed Parliament of the Scottish Government’s proposal to directly award contracts for four new vessels Ferguson Marine. These contracts cover replacements for the research vessel Scotia, the fisheries protection vessel Minna, and two additional ferries to be delivered as part of Phase 2 of the Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP2).

Fulfilment of the proposed programme, subject to due diligence processes to assess viability, would secure a pipeline of work and allow the shipyard to move ahead with its modernisation plans while pitching for additional orders on the open market.

The proposed contracts would also unlock the remainder of the £14.2m committed by the Scottish Government to upgrade the yard’s infrastructure, improve productivity and streamline production.

Save a Life for Scotland is responsible for delivering Cardiac Arrest Rescue Zones (CARe Zones), which operate at a local authority level.

Following a successful pilot in Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Government has funded Save a Life for Scotland to establish additional CARe Zones over the next three years. Delivery will prioritise local authority areas with the greatest need as part of a phased national rollout.

The first new CARe Zones are expected to be operating by 2027-28.

All 14 NHS Boards in Scotland have confirmed that patients experiencing miscarriage at any stage of pregnancy are seen in a separate private space appropriate for bereavement.

Figures on violence and aggression towards NHSScotland staff are not collected nationally. This is a matter for NHSScotland boards. All crimes, and instances of violent behaviour, should be reported to Police Scotland.

The Scottish Government does not hold information on any attacks that are reported to the police. The data provided by Police Scotland for the production of the recorded crime statistics does not specifically identify where the victim was a member of NHS staff.
