Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government whether it is aware of any cases where a self-funding care home resident entitled to free personal care has lost out on their attendance allowance because the free personal care element is paid directly to the care home instead of the resident, and whether it has any plans to reform the way free personal care is administered.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the recommendation by NICE regarding the use of the therapy, Luxturna, to treat inherited retinal dystrophies, following a funding agreement between NHS England and Novartis, whether NHS Scotland has engaged in similar discussions to allow the Scottish Medicines Consortium to consider a similar recommendation.
