Next meeting

Tuesday, May 13, 2025

The next meeting of the Circular Economy CPG will take place on 13 May 2025 at 19:00

Agenda

With new circular economy targets likely to take effect from 2027, Stephen Freeland of the Scottish Environmental Services Association will talk to the findings of a recent research report looking at the current performance of household kerbside recycling in Scotland and what materials should be targeted for collection to maximise greatest carbon reductions.

Next up Ellena Andrews, Corporate Affairs and Packaging Policy Executive from the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) will take us through reforms to packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) and what this means for recycling rates; the Government’s wider goals for economic growth; investment in waste infrastructure; and driving environmental goals to reduce pressure on resources within a circular economy.

Following on from that, Stephen Cameron, Managing Director of Change Waste Recycling will then talk to Change Waste’s approach to maximising the collection of high-quality recyclable materials from their customer base, an approach which positions them well to help deliver circular economy objectives in practice.
