That the Parliament congratulates the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra on what it considers its impressive 40th Anniversary concert at Ayr Town Hall on 15 December 2022; understands that the current orchestra of around 80 nine- to 18-year-olds were joined by many former members to perform a variety of traditional Scottish music to a packed Ayr Town Hall; applauds the efforts of president Wallace Galbraith, directors Euan Terras, Kathleen Terras and Ellen Martin, and musical directors David T Moore and Neil Eggo, for all their hard work and efforts in making this event a success for all involved; considers that the orchestra helps young people develop music skills in a fun orchestral setting, and allows them to travel around the world on international tours; believes that the orchestra is heading off on its first post-COVID-19 international tour to the southern states of the USA in July 2023, and wishes all involved the very best for this tour and the future.
