That the Parliament acknowledges Motherwell Athletic Club (AC) members who have celebrated a milestone moment after marking their 200th monthly championship Four Mile Time Trial Race; understands that the club started the race in October 2004 after it made Strathclyde Park its training base and that the event is a mix of serious threshold running and fun for those who are not quite so fit; further understands that Stuart Gibson, a former athlete with Motherwell AC, is considered the best Ultra runner ever in Australia, having finished 11th in the famous Marathon des Sables; commends Motherwell AC for encouraging a wide range of runners and athletes, young and old, fast and not-so-fast, by hosting a wide variety of training events throughout the year, and thanks all the committee and volunteers who make it possible.
