That the Parliament congratulates Rangers Football Club, founded in March 1872, on its 150th anniversary; understands that it is the second most successful club in world football in terms of trophies won; further understands that it is one of the 11 original members of the Scottish Football League, has been champion of Scottish league football 55 times, winner of the Scottish Cup 33 times, the Scottish League Cup a record 27 times, the domestic “treble” on seven occasions and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1972; applauds what it sees as the work of the Club in supporting The Rangers Charity Foundation, which has charitable partnerships with UNICEF, the Prostate Cancer Charity and Erskine, a charity which provides long-term medical care for veterans of the British Armed Forces, and understands that it also supports a range of healthcare, training and employability initiatives in Glasgow, bringing sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to attend matches and tours at Ibrox Stadium, backs initiatives in Togo and India, funding one million vaccinations for a children's vaccination programme, and fundraises for the motor neurone disease charity, MND Scotland.
