Children’s Mental Health Week 2022

  • Submitted by: Ross Greer, West Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 10 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02732

That the Parliament welcomes Children’s Mental Health Week 2022, which will take place between 7 and 13 February and is organised by the charity, Place2Be; recognises that the aim of the week is to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health; understands that this year’s theme is Growing Together, and that Place2Be will be encouraging children, and adults, to consider how they have grown emotionally, and how they can support others to grow; considers that the subject has never been more important, with one in six children and young people now estimated to have a diagnosable mental health condition, and celebrates what it sees as the vital work carried out by organisations such as Place2Be in promoting resilience and mental wellbeing among Scotland’s young people.
