That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen Art Gallery on winning the Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award from the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS); recognises what it sees as the incredible transformation of the 1885 building, which benefitted from a £1.5 million investment from the UK Government; gives thanks to all those involved in the building’s restoration; notes that Aberdeen Art Gallery was officially opened by Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay on 21 September 2021; believes that it is positive for Aberdeen, Scotland’s third largest city, to now have a venue able to host major art and cultural events, and welcomes the opportunities that this building will bring to the people of Aberdeen.
