Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS) Nominated for Living Wage Scotland Trailblazer Award

That the Parliament congratulates Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), a North Lanarkshire climate neutral, circular operation garments supplier, on being shortlisted for the Living Wage Scotland Trailblazer Award 2021; understands that ACS is an organisation that actively seeks to provide employment opportunities to disadvantaged people in the community; further understands that the supplier has innovative employment practices, which aim to enhance lives by providing, in partnership with the college and council, work-based placements for disabled people; acknowledges that ACS is currently developing a similar programme for new immigrants, including asylum seekers; recognises that ACS, through it’s fair work approach, seeks to set an example to other organisations with initiatives including, the introduction of mental health first aiders and removal of the gender pay gap, and further understands that the supplier seeks to provide an alternative, sustainable business model within the fashion industry, which protects vital resources and rewards its workforce.
