That the Parliament regrets the announcement by CalaChem Fine Chemicals that it proposes to cease manufacturing at its site in Grangemouth; understands that manufacturing has taken place on this site for over 100 years; regrets that this would mean the projected loss of 100 jobs; urges the company to enter into meaningful negotiations with Unite the Union to find ways to avoid these job losses; urges the Scottish Government to offer assistance to prevent these job losses, and considers that this is another example of why there is a need for a Scottish industrial strategy that is investment-led, focuses on jobs-first, is people-centred, and manufacturing-driven.
