Retirement of Denis and Cathy Curran

  • Submitted by: Collette Stevenson, East Kilbride, Scottish National Party
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 20 May 2021
  • Motion type: Standard Motion
  • Motion reference: S6M-00067

That the Parliament wishes Denis Curran MBE and his wife, Cathie, all the best for the future as they plan to retire from the Loaves and Fishes Foodbank, in which they have been involved for almost 30 years; applauds their hard work and dedication as they have helped thousands of hungry families over the years; notes that their last attempt at retiring some four years ago was unsuccessful as they had a change of heart and felt they could not leave the charity behind despite their poor health, and wishes them both a long and happy retirement with the hope that, one day, their dream will be realised and there will no longer be a need for foodbanks.
