  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 13 August 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-18504

That the Parliament commends the work of Cairnlee House Camphill Community in Bielside, which is part of Camphill School Aberdeen, for its work in delivering first-class education, care and therapy for children and young people with additional support needs; understands that Camphill consists of independent charities with 121 centres across the world and offers support on a day or residential basis; notes that Cairnlee House is comprised of four houses, craft workshops, gardens and an assembly hall, and delivers a range of activities that contribute to the wellbeing of the community and stimulate interest and motivation in the development of practical skills; believes that all of these are vital for supporting and fostering independence for children and young people with learning difficulties, and enabling them to live their lives as fully as possible, and wishes the staff and young people of Cairnlee House the very best in the years to come.
