Anne Frank Trust UK's Schools and Communities Programme

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 25 September 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-07861

That the Parliament congratulates the Anne Frank Trust UK on its award of £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, which will be used to deliver a schools and communities programme to 19 schools and two community exhibitions in Dundee and Glasgow over two years; understands that the tiered programme will reach 8,700 pupils and consist of an in-school exhibition, workshops, peer education and ambassador training; believes that the young people taking part will gain confidence, teamwork, leadership and presentation skills, and develop their critical thinking and debating ability; considers that this will allow them to become more enterprising and will better equip them for leaving school, and wishes the Anne Frank Trust UK continued success.
