North Lanarkshire Council Tackles Period Poverty

That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire Council on voting in favour of a pilot project to provide free sanitary products in all of its secondary schools, which will also see the installation of free dispensing machines in school toilets; welcomes the commitment from the local authority to roll out this scheme to other facilities, including leisure centres, libraries and community hubs; acknowledges the importance of provision of sanitary products to allow for the full participation in leisure and cultural activities, and commends the councillors who brought these proposals forward for taking what it considers such bold action to help eradicate period poverty in North Lanarkshire.
