That the Parliament congratulates Lorraine Watson from Thornton on becoming the first female to referee a senior men’s match in Scotland, taking charge of the match between Edinburgh City and Berwick Rangers; understands that Lorraine has previously officiated at the Women’s Under-19 European Championships and was a fourth official at the Women’s Euro 2017, as well as taking charge of games in the Women’s Champions League; acknowledges that she is currently bidding to attain full Scottish FA category one status, allowing her to referee matches at Scottish Premiership level; considers that such success will inspire young female referees, and wishes Lorraine well in her future career.
