Congratulations to New Orkney Islands Council Leadership

That the Parliament congratulates the West Mainland councillor, Harvey Johnston, on being elected unopposed as convener of Orkney Island Council at a special meeting on 16 May 2017; further congratulates the Stromness and South Isles councillor, James Stockan, and the Kirkwall West and Orphir councillor, Leslie Manson, on similarly being unanimously adopted as the council's new political leader and deputy leader respectively; thanks councillors Steven Heddle and James Foubister for their contributions as outgoing convener and deputy convener, and wishes all those elected to the council on 4 May the best as they carry out their duties on behalf of constituents and the Orkney community over the coming five years.
