That the Parliament welcomes the sum of £205,989 being allocated to South Lanarkshire Women’s Aid from the Scottish Government's equality budget 2016-17; considers that the work that the organisation undertakes is essential to keeping women, young people and children safe from domestic abuse; credits the organisation with its pursuit of empowering, educating and supporting survivors of domestic abuse; considers that the 34 refuges throughout South Lanarkshire are essential to providing a safe space for victims to regain control of their lives, and wishes the organisation well with its new allocation of funds.
