That the Parliament congratulates the team at Dr Gray’s on winning the Sustainability Excellence Award at the annual Scottish Health and Social Care Facilities Conference in Perthshire; notes that the award is given to the entry that demonstrates “positive benefits to the local community and economy with the potential for replication across other NHS Scotland Health Boards or public sector organisations”; commends Consultant Anaesthetist, Doug McKendrick, for driving the scheme forward; understands that, if Dr Gray’s recycling of paper and cardboard within the operating theatre environment scheme was rolled out across NHS Grampian, over 221 tonnes of landfill and clinical waste could be cut each year, saving £42,000, and congratulates NHS Grampian and Dr Gray’s on this successful recycling scheme.
