That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture on its 200th anniversary; notes that it was founded in Edinburgh in 1826 by artists who broke away from the Royal Institution, moved to The Mound in 1835 and received its royal charter in 1838; recognises that it is an independent, self-financing charity whose collection is recognised by the Scottish Government as a Collection of National Significance; celebrates its annual exhibition and the around £500,000 it distributes to artists each year through artist-led awards, bursaries and residencies; welcomes Celebrating Together, its bicentenary partnership with some 120 museums, galleries, schools, libraries and community spaces across Scotland, and the closing exhibition of Dame Barbara Rae's work, Charting South, opening on 21 November 2026, and wishes the Academy every success for the next 200 years.
