That the Parliament congratulates the Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust on the successful restoration and formal opening of Kilmaronock Old Kirk; understands that the Trust was formed in 2017 to buy Kilmaronock Old Kirk, a grade-B listed classical building with a long history of community use, from the Church of Scotland, to restore it and to run it as a social enterprise for the local community; notes the considerable dedication and commitment of everyone involved in bringing the project to fruition; further notes that the Trust is led by a group of fantastic volunteers who have a broad range of skills and experience; recognises what it sees as the outstanding contribution of Willie Roxburgh, who served as project manager for five years and is understood to have volunteered thousands of hours of his time and engineering expertise to the project; believes that his extensive knowledge, attention to detail and determination were greatly valued throughout the restoration; recognises the contribution of Mary Sweetland, including her expertise in securing funding for the project; commends the contractors, architects, trustees, volunteers and supporters who contributed to this achievement, and wishes the Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust every success for the future.
