That the Parliament recognises the support provided to families by the specialist respite centres for children with complex needs at Sunndach in Livingston and Calareidh in Edinburgh; commends the staff at the centres for the highly specialised care and support that they provide, which it considers a lifeline to families across the Central Scotland and Lothians West region and beyond; notes with concern that these facilities have been under review by NHS Lothian since November 2024; understands that the NHS board has agreed to pause any decision regarding the future of these services pending further meaningful engagement with affected families, and notes calls on NHS Lothian to reinstate and maintain a full service at both Sunndach and Calareidh to ensure that families of children with complex needs can continue to have access to this vital support, both now and in the future.
