That the Parliament congratulates #ClanMcKie, Don and Rachel and their family, on completing the Walk of Hope in tribute to their son, Graham; recognises that the walk was organised to mark 20 years since Graham’s death; understands that Graham was diagnosed at the age of 32 with an inoperable and incurable glioblastoma grade 4 brain tumour and, despite undergoing one chemotherapy treatment and 30 radiotherapy treatments, sadly died seven months later on 11 August 2006; notes that the money raised by the Walk of Hope will benefit the Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence; understands that Clan McKie hoped to raise enough money to fund a full day of research, at a cost of £2,740, and congratulates the family on far exceeding this target by raising more than £4,000, including Gift Aid; recognises that Clan McKie has raised over £74,000 in total for brain tumour-related causes in memory of Graham, his extended family and friends, and all those who are still living with the condition; thanks Clan McKie for its incredible fundraising efforts and for raising awareness of what it considers to be a cruel and devastating disease, which is the biggest cancer killer of children and people under 40, and congratulates everyone involved on this fantastic achievement.
