That the Parliament recognises and values what it sees as the important role of trade unions in defending the jobs, pay and conditions of workers in Scotland’s offshore energy industry; notes reports about the current dispute between Wood Group and its offshore workers over proposed changes to pay and conditions, including the threat of fire and rehire; recognises the decision by members of Unite the Union and RMT to take strike action in defence of their existing terms and conditions; commends the determination and solidarity of workers taking industrial action to defend their livelihoods and hard-won rights; supports the principle that workers should have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their employment and conditions, and extends its solidarity and best wishes to the striking Wood Group workers and their unions in their efforts to secure a fair resolution to the dispute.
