That the Parliament congratulates Stable Life, which is based at Dryden Farm near Selkirk, on receiving £6,778 from the National Lottery Community Fund to enable 50 disadvantaged young people to access equine activities free of charge during school holidays; recognises that Stable Life uses equine-facilitated wellbeing programmes to support vulnerable young people across the Scottish Borders who are experiencing challenges in their lives; understands that its person-centred programmes use horses and their environment to help young people develop confidence, emotional regulation, communication, resilience and self-understanding; notes that young people can be referred to Stable Life by schools, social work teams, GPs, CAMHS, and parents and carers; recognises that the organisation also provides practical work experience and supports young people as they consider progression towards college and employment; notes its longstanding links with local education, including the delivery of qualifications in horse care and rural skills for Selkirk High School; recognises the positive role that it believes animals, physical activity and a supportive rural environment can play in helping young people build confidence and positive relationships; commends Stable Life's staff, volunteers, peer mentors and supporters for their commitment to young people across the Scottish Borders, and wishes the 50 young people benefiting from the latest funding an enjoyable and positive experience.
