Coldingham Brave Bayers CIC Receives £9,061 from the National Lottery Community Fund

That the Parliament congratulates Coldingham Brave Bayers CIC on receiving £9,061 from the National Lottery Community Fund to support a 20-week winter wellbeing programme combining indoor swimming, gentle physical activity and social opportunities to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing; recognises the organisation's wider work using blue and green spaces to improve mental and physical wellbeing, increase confidence and bring people together; notes its commitment to making outdoor activity accessible regardless of age, background, ability or circumstance; welcomes its work to improve water safety by helping people understand open-water conditions, cold water, personal safety and the risks associated with outdoor swimming; notes that previous wellbeing programmes have reported improvements in participants' mental and physical wellbeing, social connection and confidence in open water; recognises its collaboration with organisations, including the RNLI, to promote water safety; commends Coldingham Brave Bayers for, it believes, creating welcoming opportunities for people to enjoy the Scottish Borders coastline safely and confidently, and wishes everyone involved every success with the new winter programme.
