That the Parliament congratulates Lizzie MacLeish, Sophie Gillians and Shona Easingwood, of the Borders Nicotine Prevention Toolkit Team, on receiving the Healthcare Rights Award at the Scottish Children’s Health Awards 2026; understands that the award, which was announced on 11 September 2026, recognises the team’s work to improve nicotine prevention education and health outcomes for children and young people across the Scottish Borders; notes that the Scottish Borders was the first region in Scotland to launch a Youth Nicotine Prevention Toolkit and that young people were directly involved in its development; particularly recognises the contribution of young people at Eyemouth High School, who helped to develop the graphics and logo for the toolkit, and Abigail from Eyemouth High School, who contributed to the development of its Trading Standards video; understands that the initiative has brought together partners across health, education, public services and the third sector to provide young people with evidence-based information about nicotine and its associated harms; further understands that the work has been shared more widely as an example of good practice; commends the young people from Eyemouth and across the Scottish Borders whose views and experiences helped shape the initiative; congratulates Lizzie, Sophie and Shona on receiving this recognition, and wishes the team and all the young people involved continued success.
