That the Parliament commends former Scotland rugby international Matt Scott for his plan to run the 2027 Edinburgh Marathon in support of Endometriosis UK; thanks his wife, Ruth, for speaking openly about the pain that she has endured and the lengthy wait she experienced before receiving treatment; recognises that endometriosis affects an estimated 1.5 million women across the UK and can have a devastating impact on daily life; notes with concern Endometriosis UK’s survey finding that, in Scotland, the average time between a first visit to a GP with symptoms to diagnosis is 10 years and two months; believes that women reporting severe pain should be listened to and taken seriously, and calls for earlier diagnosis and faster access to specialist care.
