115th Anniversary of Sauchie Public Hall

That the Parliament congratulates Sauchie Public Hall on its 115th anniversary in October 2026; recognises the important place that the hall has held at the heart of Sauchie since opening in 1911; notes that the category C listed Arts and Crafts building was designed by the notable local architect, William Kerr, and retains many of its original features, including its stage; welcomes the transfer of the running of the hall from Clackmannanshire Council to Sauchie Public Hall SCIO; thanks the trustees and members of the local community who have worked to secure the hall’s future and ensure that it can continue to provide recreational facilities and activities for the benefit of the people of Sauchie; welcomes the programme of celebrations planned for 3 October, including the official opening, live entertainment from local artists and Sauchie music groups, a retelling of the history of the hall and an evening of live music, dancing and entertainment; considers that it is particularly fitting that, just as music and entertainment marked the opening of Sauchie Public Hall 115 years ago, the community will once again come together in the hall to celebrate this important milestone; believes that community ownership offers an exciting opportunity to protect the hall’s heritage while ensuring that it continues to evolve to meet the needs of local people; wishes Sauchie Public Hall SCIO, its trustees, volunteers and the wider Sauchie community every success as they begin the next chapter in the life of this much-loved local building, and looks forward to its next 115 years.
